National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF) Enhances Site Accessibility With New Integration
In the United States, 1 in 4 adults — or 25% of the adult population — have some type of disability, according to CDC data.
Another research study revealed that Americans with disabilities are less likely to use the internet on a daily basis than those reporting no disability (75% versus 87%).
The National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF), a Certified B Corp and organization whose mission is embedded in the principle of doing good, looks forward to the opportunity to increase its website functioning and accessibility for users with a range of disabilities.
NEIF has recently teamed up with a third-party service to install an accessibility menu that appears on most pages within the website. This menu can be accessed by clicking the small blue icon that lives in the lower right-hand corner of the screen (on both desktop and mobile view).
Once the widget is clicked, a menu will pop open with various accessibility settings that include, but are not limited to:
- Contrast
- Bigger Text
- Text Spacing
- Pause Animations
- Hide Images
- Dyslexia Friendly
- Text Align
- Saturation
These features are among others that cater to a variety of user needs. The appropriate setting can be activated by clicking on its place in the menu. Any setting can be toggled off by choosing “Reset All Accessibility Settings.”
If you have difficult accessing the NEIF website or navigating the accessibility widget, please contact NEIF’s compliance team for further assistance.
