ON THE ROAD: National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF) Makes a Splash at the Inaugural Clean Energy Funders Forum in Las Vegas, Nevada

Representing the National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF), Matthew H. Brown, NEIF Co-Chair and Managing Member, and Jensen Handwork, NEIF Senior Director – Program Development, traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada this week to participate in the first-ever Clean Energy Funders Forum.

Hosted by the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), this workshop was held on Monday, September 8, 2025, and fostered the collaboration of clean energy leaders, investors, and innovators — with a special interest in accelerating clean energy adoption through leveraging private and public funds.

For NEIF, the forum also presented a unique opportunity to meet fellow thought leaders and reunite with old acquaintances in the industry.

One familiar face in attendance was Alex Crowley, the Executive Director of the Indiana Energy Independence Fund (IEIF). Currently, the IEIF and NEIF teams work together to bring low-cost financing commercial financing to Indiana businesses, non-profits, as well as multi-family and government properties through the Indiana Energy Independence Fund financing program.

A key takeaway from NEIF’s time at the forum?

Financing will continue to play a vital role in supporting clean energy that is both affordable and accessible.

As the nation’s only Certified B Corporation™ energy lender, NEIF recognizes that partnerships fuel progress — and the team looks forward to continue being part of conversations that drive real, impactful change.
