Special Financing for Energy Efficiency Upgrades for Pennsylvania Homeowners

Pennsylvanians can Go Greener, Affordably with fixed monthly payment financing for improvements that make your home more energy efficient.

The KEEP Loan is supported by the Energy Development Authority (PEDA)’s Pennsylvania Energy Accelerator Program. 

Lending is administered by the National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF), a Pennsylvania-based B Corporation, certified to meet the highest standards of compliance and fair lending, and a U.S. Department of Energy Home Improvement Expert. 

What Improvements Qualify?

Homeowners making qualifying improvements to their primary residence or secondary (vacation) home on Pennsylvania-deeded properties. 

Work must be performed by a NEIF-Approved Contractor, who must certify that the primary improvement is listed at energystar.gov/products at the time of installation. Qualifying improvements are limited to the categories shown below. Financing may include all related work required for installation.

Who is Eligible?​

  • One to four unit primary or secondary (vacation) home, Pennsylvania-deed properties.
  • Owner-occupied, no investment properties. 
  • Must be affixed to a permanent foundation. 
  • Maximum project size is $25,000.
  • No lien is filed on your property.
  • Properties owned or held in trust are not eligible.
  • Applicant must meet all credit guidelines.
  • Work must be performed by a NEIF-Approved Contractor who must certify that the primary improvement is listed at energy.gov/products at the time of installation.
  • Financing may include all related work required for installation.

1. Get an Estimate
Contact a NEIF-Approved Contractor to get an estimate for qualifying improvements.

2. Fast Approval

Find a NEIF-Approved Contractor and apply via their application link for an instant credit decision. If you don’t have a contractor selected, apply online directly for a no-obligation credit pre-approval.

3. Installation & Payment to Contractor

Your contractor will send us a copy of your estimate/proposal identifying final price and qualifying improvements. You will receive electronic loan documents for your signature. NEIF pays the contractor when the work is completed to your satisfaction.
