National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF) Supports Upperclassmen at Kutztown University's Mock Interview Mania Event
The National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF) had the opportunity to participate in this year’s Mock Interview Mania week at Kutztown University, an event held each semester that gives upperclassmen the chance to practice and strengthen their real-world interviewing skills.
Representing NEIF, Jennifer Tornetta, HR Business Partner, took part in conducting a series of interviews at Kutztown’s campus on Monday, March 30. As part of the event, Tornetta interviewed six seniors representing a variety of majors ranging from marketing to animated arts, and helped students refine and prepare their skills for the workforce.
“Each student brought a unique perspective and spoke passionately about their skills, experiences, and career goals,” said Tornetta.
Following the interview portion, Tornetta provided each student with individualized feedback and a synopsis of both their strengths and areas to improve on so they could best position themselves to future recruiters and hiring managers.
In addition to the mock interviews, Tornetta shared insight on what employers look for in strong candidates, how students can ask impactful questions during interviews, and strategies for creating effective resumes. In these conversations, Tornetta noted that students asked thoughtful questions and showed a clear motivation to grow and succeed.
“It was truly a rewarding experience to connect with such a diverse and driven group of soon-to-be graduates,” Tornetta said. “Thank you to Kutztown University for the opportunity to support and help prepare the future workforce.”
