NEIF Team Assembles "Joyful Giving" Gift Bags of Personal Essentials for Area Families

Just in time for the holidays, the National Energy Improvement Fund (NEIF) partnered with Joyful Giving, a 501(c)(3) non-profit local to NEIF’s headquarters in Allentown, PA. Throughout the month of November, NEIF raised money on behalf of Joyful Giving to support its mission: spread joy by packaging and sending essential items to organizations in need.

What started as a gift box business in 2017, Joyfuls, later evolved into an opportunity to give back to the surrounding community. Hannah Votta Coleman, Joyfuls founder, launched Joyful Giving this past year, where she creates bags instead of boxes – referred to as Joy Maker Bags – that still feel like gifts, but contain items of necessity such as hygiene products, socks, and chocolate.

“The inspiration behind creating Joyful Giving is that I feel everyone deserves a gift. Joy Maker bags are intentionally packaged so it really does feel like a gift to the recipient,” said Votta Coleman.

As a Certified B Corp, it’s important to NEIF to use the power of business to make a positive impact – environmentally, socially, etc. Engaging with an organization such as Joyful Giving not only aligns with NEIF’s organizational values, but also provided a unique opportunity for NEIF team members to directly participate in creating Joy Maker Bags.

After a month of fundraising, NEIF’s efforts culminated in an in-person Joy Maker Bag assembly event and luncheon at the Allentown office on Wednesday, November 30. Thanks to Hannah’s guidance, the NEIF team worked together to create more than 500 bags that will benefit both adults and children across the Lehigh Valley.
